UPSaaS

The term UPSaaS is trademark protected by Burland Energy SA of Geneva Switzerland. The following definition explains the meaning of UPSaaS.
UPSaaS is an abbreviation for UPS-as-a-Service. UPSaaS is an alternative way of providing uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) to mission critical facilities, such as data centres, medical and military installations. UPSaaS was created in the wake of SaaS (Software as a Service) and PaaS (Platform as a Service). The benefit of UPSaaS is that it allows businesses to purchase fully conditioned uninterruptable power for their mission critical applications on pay-per-use basis. The pay-per-use is based upon actual kWh (load) used by the equipment and applications. This system allows a business the full benefits of a reliable, conditioned power supply without the need for upfront capital expenditure. The ongoing costs involved are all allocated to the operating expenditure of a business, just like any other utility, allowing beneficial tax treatment of these off balance sheet costs.
