UnSettled: Inside The Strange World of Asbestos Lawsuits (documentary) is a film directed by Paul Johnson that critically examines the asbestos litigation industry. Mike Lampe UnSettled spends a long time exploring he story of Mike Lampe, a lawyer from California, who helped defend his brother when his automobile dealership was sued by someone claiming exposure to asbestos despite the fact that the car dealership did not yet exist at the time the exposure supposedly happened. Lampe spent years fighting to get the case dismissed and then counter-sued. During this process he got to see in how asbestos litigation works in granular detail. Most important asbestos defense firms in the United States watched the Lampe case very closely.
