The University of Washington College of Engineering (COE) is the engineering unit of the University of Washington. The college has ten departments with 5,500 students and 237 faculty. Departments in the College of Engineering Aeronautics & Astronautics Bioengineering Bioresources Science & Engineering Chemical Engineering Civil & Environmental Engineering Computer Science & Engineering Electrical Engineering Human Centered Design & Engineering Industrial & Systems Engineering Materials Science & Engineering Mechanical Engineering Within the School of Engineering, the Mechanical Engineering Department offers BSME, MSME, and doctorate level degrees to its students. The school is housed in the Mechanical Engineering Building and Engineering Annex, which includes a fully equipped Instructional Machine Shop for student use. The Mechanical Engineering Department is home to several student organizations and clubs providing hands-on application to the engineering curriculum. The departments most significant clubs include Formula SAE, EcoCAR, and Engineers Without Borders.
