United Liberal Associations

The United Liberal Associations () is a Belgian non-profit organization of spiritually-liberal groups based in Flanders and Brussels. It was established on June 9, 1966, and registered as a non-profit organization on 31 March 1971 with the statutory viewpoint as a federation of "those organizations in the Dutch language and the bilingual region of Brussels-Capital for the Flemish Community" which pursue "the principle of Free research honor, dogma or authority argument to build their ideological, philosophical and political beliefs reject and the man recognized as creator and bearer of moral values." It is a member organization of the International Humanist and Ethical Union. Purpose The objective of the United Liberal Associations is the creation of the liberal non-denominational community and defend its interests. This is done mainly by: * request of the member organizations and initiatives to support and coordinate actions; * initiatives and actions to be performed in consultation with the member organizations that, because of their corporate purpose, jurisdiction in a particular matter; * non-confessional moral service to organize, manage and build on the moral service. Both for the entire population and for certain categories; * liberal non-denominational community to represent to the public and third parties. Governing Council UVV is governed by a boardconsisting of representatives of the organizations, a General Assemblycomposed of three delegates from each Member Organisation, and an Executive Committee composed of up to 9 members. The Board of Directors, elected by themselves every three years the General Assembly shall elect a chairman, who legally co-chairman of the Liberal Central Council. In addition, the board shall elect a Bureau, which the representatives of the Central Council Liberal arrows. Current president of the UVV is Sonja Eggerickx. Liberal Central Council (CVR) UVV is the representative body for liberal Flanders. On the French side was on March 29, 1969, the Walloon liberals, the Centre d'Action Laïque established. The Central Liberal Council (full name: Central Council of the Liberal philosophical non-confessional communities in Belgium vzw) groups together the two organizations. The formal object of the CVR is: "The two representative bodies of non-confessional philosophical communities of Belgium to group them and to represent to third parties, in particular towards the official institutions and public powers." The functions of the CVR are: * represent the non-confessional philosophical communities in their relations with civil authorities; * coordinate the organization and operation of the non-denominational service and moral management of material and financial interests of the non-confessional philosophical communities that are part of it; * regulate the exercise of the duties of the delegates moral services based on a non-denominational life. Moral Services Centres (CMD) Today UVV 23 Moral Services Centers. People can go there with moral issues. Or to a clearer understanding of their views, expectations and values. The moral service to empower people to potential problem situations. The service is free. The activities of the Moral Services Centres can be divided into four types of activity: * reception and information; * liberal ceremonies; * education and support; * moral support. Two types of moral service There are two types of moral services: general services and moral categorical services General moral service aimed at people who have problems know in their lives, that it is one or other reden not see sitting here, who hebben problems with the partner, kinderen or at work, etc. Categorical moral support tailored to a specific audience: * moral support in hospitals; * moral support in nursing homes; * moral support in prisons; * moral assistance to the university; * moral assistance at the airport; * moral support for sea fishing; * moral support within the military. Liberal ceremonies Every person goes through in his / her life a number of crucial moments of life: birth, cohabitation, marriage, death, ... For these moments more depth in UVV offers the possibility of a liberal ceremony to organize. Important in this type of ritual is the fact that man is self centered and his or its solemn shape.
