Unique Performance Volleyball

Unique Performance Volleyball Club is a USAV organized junior volleyball program based out of Peoria, IL. It is owned and operated by Unique Performance Volleyball, NFP; an Illinois registered Non-Profit Organization formally incorporated on December 10th, 2007. Unique Performance Volleyball was founded by Director's John P. Sutton, Lindsey A. Kerbel, & Ben Fisher.


USAV Junior Volleyball Teams
Unique Performance Volleyball currently has 3 USAV registered girl's volleyball club teams. The teams are structured based on age and ability, according to the UnqiueVB.com website's 'Team Info' page . The 'Royale' teams are high-caliber volleyball teams competing at the National level, while the 'White Ice' teams are high-school level teams competing locally. Currently there are 2 'Royale' teams (16's Royale & 18's Royale) and 1 'White Ice' team (16's White Ice).

Club Volleyball History in Peoria
Before the creation of Unique Performance Volleyball, the top junior volleyball club program in Central Illinois by number of national qualifications achieved was Illini Elite Volleyball Club of Bloomington, IL (a sister club of Sports Performance Volleyball Club of Aurora, IL). Unique Performance Volleyball is currently the only 'High Performance' volleyball team in the Central Illinois and Peoria, Illinois areas competing for the USA Volleyball Junior Olympics.

Club Director
Unique Performance Volleyball is currently ran by Club Director John P. Sutton.

Coach John Sutton was the Varsity Volleyball Coach at Dunlap High School in Dunlap, IL in 2007. He has been coaching high-level volleyball for 7 years now. His coaching career began at Bloomington North HS in Bloomington, IN where he helped coach the Lady Cougars to the state's final four in his first year. He has coached at multiple high-performance clubs in Indiana & Illinois, and has led teams to the JOVC's twice in his coaching career. He has directed and ran many high-performance club & college camps for players from throughout the United States including camps at Purdue University, Indiana University, & Pepperdine to name a few.

Coach Sutton is known for his intensity & work ethic which he attributes to his mentors Brian Payne, Tom Beerman, & Eugene Kim. His coaching style is very active, he gives constant feedback to his players, and strives for perfection in every skill. As a player, Coach Sutton was named to the Indiana All-State team Junior & Senior years, and went on to play men's volleyball collegiately at Indiana Univeristy.

Coaching Staff
Unique Performance Volleyball currently lists 6 coaches on their 'Coaching Staff' page. Only 4 of those coaches are registered with USA Volleyball as official 'Coaches'. John P Sutton, Ben Fisher, Lindsey Kerbel, and Jim Smalley are all listed as coaches for 'Unique Performance Volleyball' according to the Great Lakes Region of USA Volleyball. All 4 coaches are IMPACT certified, a USA Volleyball coaching accredidation program.

Lindsey A. Kerbel is the current 16's Royale Volleyball coach for Unique Performance Volleyball. She played volleyball collegiately at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, IN. She was the starting setter for 4 years, and currently holds the career and single season records for 'Assists' & 'Assist per Game'. She is also second all-time for Career Service Aces, Service Aces per Game, Digs, Digs per Game, Solo Blocks, Block Assists, & Total Blocks.

Honors & Awards
In Unique Performance Volleyball's first year of operation, 5 of the 5 seniors currently playing for Unique Performance Volleyball during the 2008 Club season have signed or committed to play NJCAA or NCAA collegiate volleyball in the state of Illinois. Those players include Tessa Bara(Illinos Central Community College), Callie Koziel (Illinos Central Community College), Tara Boyer (Millikin University), Val Kale (Millikin University), & Brinda Bristol (Blackhawk College).
