Ultimate Dodgeball is a sport that uses the max of strength and skill to accomplish. It requires the use of teamwork and strategy to be able to become victorious. The game was created in 2011 by a group of amazing sportsmen (from Perth) who wanted a game that pushed them to the extremes. It is comprised of the "Ball of Life", the "Haven", the "Earth", the "Dodgers, the "Throwers" and the "Safezones". Origination The game is a variant of dodgeball. Ultimate Dodgeball originated from a simple game (that was not given a name), that consisted of having to evade incoming hordes of balls, around a pool area. You were out if; you fell in the pool, you were hit or you got out of the designated boundaries. This game slowly evolved; it became larger, the pool became a distant memory, more rules were set in place, ideas were changed. Eventually the game became so good that it had to be made to a proper sport and given the name, "Ultimate Dodgeball". the current version of this game is "Ultimate Dodgeball 2.0". Gameplay Overall Gameplay of the current version The game is played on a large oval or field called the "Earth". On both side of the "Earth" two poles must be erected (2 meters apart), in order to create goals. One side (goal) of the oval is called the "Haven" and the other side (goal) is were the Dodgers start running. In the middle of the "Earth" a circle (3 meter diameter) is drawn and it becomes a "Safezone". In the middle of that circle, the "Ball of Life" is placed. The Throwers start in front of the "Safezone". The Throwers each have a ball that they can either throw (at a Dodger), or touch (a Dodger) in order to get them out. The Dodgers hold nothing. The game starts when both teams (Dodgers and Throwers) acknowledge that they are ready. The overall aim of the game: The Dodgers must get to the "Safezone", retrieve the "Ball of Life" and continue running to the "Haven" (without getting tagged out). If this happens the Dodgers win. At least one Dodger must do this. If a Dodger is tagged out he or she must drop whatever they hold and stand still. Another live Dodger can free the tagged Dodger, by touching them. The Dodgers must work together and so must the Throwers. The Throwers must tag all Dodgers before any of the Dodgers get the "Ball of life" in the Haven. If this happens the Throwers win. Layout of rules of the current version * Only Dodgers can enter "Safezones" or the "Haven" * Throwers cant tag anyone inside of the "Safezones" or the "Haven" * Throwers cannot touch the "Ball of Life" only Dodgers can * Dodgers cannot pick up any of the throwing balls that belong to the Throwers * The game can only be played on the "Earth" Variations Team Deathmatch Working as a team to get the "Ball of Life" to the "Haven". This is described in the Gameplay. Free-For-All Free-For-All Ultimate Dodgeball is a much more intense game. There are no teams just individuals. Each individual has a tagging ball and a base. He or she is safe in their own base. Each individual must retrieve the "Ball of Life" from the middle and get it to their base without getting tagged. If they are tagged they must drop whatever they have and return to their base, before they can start again. The game ends when one individual gets the "Ball of Life" to their base. Muscles and Skills used The game requires: * The use of extreme cardio strength * A lot of stamina and the ability to "put your all in" * Strong leg muscles and good coordination * The use of intense strategy planning and great teamwork * The ability to devise plans immediately and improvise * The use of guesswork * Understanding your options * Understanding your teams position * Understanding the current layout and situation of the game * The ability to consider all variations and deviations that can occur to your plans * The ability to consider the possible plans of the enemy * The ability to guess what the enemy will do next
