The UK Column is a monthly newspaper and website which has arisen out of the work of Brian Gerrish, a Briton, living in Plymouth, South West England, in the United Kingdom. Brian Gerrish is an ex-Naval Officer, with 21 years of military service in the Royal Navy, based in Plymouth. Brian and his colleagues, to research what they believe are the subversive methods being used to impose the European Union on the citizens of the UK.
The UK Column is particularly critical of the charity Common Purpose UK, which it suspects of having a hidden agenda, due to the seeming methods of training and recruitment that Common Purpose UK uses. Brian Gerrish has shown how Common Purpose (CP) has complete control over Plymouth City Council and has lectured extensively on how he came to be aware of Common Purpose in the United Kingdom frequently comparing it to how various 20th century totalitarian regimes operated (In particular, Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union). The work of Brian has become very well known, and through his public speaking and lectures, he has begun to network across the United Kingdom with a large number of British people, concerning what he believes are the ravages of the EU.
