Tyler Linfesty

Tyler Linfesty (born 2000) is an American viral video sensation who caught the attention when he appeared in the audience of President Donald Trump's rally held in Billings, Montana on September 6, 2018. Linfesty made bewildered and unenthusiastic facial expressions behind the podium where the president was speaking. All occurring live on national television, an official working at the rally had asked him to leave because of his facial expressions in the same camera shot of the president. Several hours following the rally, Linfesty was dubbed the "Plaid Shirt Guy" due to his plaid shirt and casual outfit on, with no MAGA hat or any supporting clothing/gear in favor of the president, and became an instant viral video on social media platforms and news outlets.
The video was featured on dozens of national news publications, including The Washington Post, CBS News, Time Magazine, CNN, Newsweek, Business Insider and USA Today.
Linfesty has said he is not a supporter of President Trump, however, he attended the rally just to experience seeing a president speak live. He said his now famous reactions to the president’s speech were honest but unintentional.
He is from Billings, Montana and is a senior at Billings West High School.
