Twinmesh

TwinMesh is a mesh generation program that automatically generates structured hexahedral grids for the moving parts of rotary positive displacement machines. The resulting meshes allow for CFD analysis of rotary pd machines such as screw compressors and expanders, scroll compressors and expanders, gear pumps, lobe pumps and gerotor pumps. The TwinMesh software generates strucutural grids for user defined rotation angels of pd machines and allows to perform transient CFD calculations for these machines types. Using the structured grid topology and special user subroutines (Fortran or UDFs) which manage the grid movement the TwinMesh approach avoids common limitations of other simulation approaches such as interpolation errors of the remeshing technology or limited access to physical models such overlapping mesh approaches (overset mesh; immersed solid). TwinMesh is exports data direct to ANSYS CFD solver technology but is also applicable for other cfd solvers which allow for user definded routines which manage the mesh movement.
