True self

:For other uses, see .

The true self is the self uncorrupted. It is thought to be able to be manifested in various religions through a process called either salvation or awakening. In certain occult societies it is the highest grade, usually represented by the Latin name Ipsissimus (with the Latin element "Ips-" meaning self, and the "-issimus" element roughly meaning 'utmost.') a grade which is found in the Golden Dawn & the A∴A∴, among others.
