Traveling in The Simpsons

Travel is a common recurring theme in the television show The Simpsons. Many of the episodes feature trips to various real life cities or countries, and several episode plots revolve around this.

Europe
France
* In "The Crepes of Wrath", Bart is sent to France as part of the student exchange program.

* In "Bart-Mangled Banner", the entire family is forced to flee the United States and in the end moves to France, where they later immigrate back to America.

Italy
*In "The Italian Bob", Homer is sent to Italy to buy Mr. Burns a new Lamborgotti Fasterossa car and the rest of the family tags along.

The Netherlands
*In "Burns' Heir", when Bart finds out about Homer's addiction to eating flowers, he remarks that it explained his "mysterious trip to Holland".

Sweden

* In "Treehouse of Horror XIV", the family travel to Stockholm to watch Professor Frink receive the Nobel Prize for Physics. (Considered non-canonical.)

United Kingdom

* In "The Regina Monologues", the entire family, plus Grampa, travels to England after Bart earns 3,000 dollars and decides to take Marge on a nice trip.

*In "Monty Can't Buy Me Love", Homer travels to Scotland with Mr. Burns to capture the Loch Ness Monster.

* In "Goo Goo Gai Pan", Selma travels to China to adopt a baby and is accompanied by the Simpson family.

* In "Homer and Apu", Homer and Apu travel to India in an effort to get Apu his job back at the Kwik-E-Mart.

* In "Kiss Kiss, Bang Bangalore", Homer is sent to India to train new employees. The rest of the Simpson family, lead by Mr. Burns, later checks up on him.

* In "Thirty Minutes over Tokyo", the Simpson family travels to Tokyo after winning mega-saver tickets at the airport.

* In Bart on the Road, Bart, while in the employ of a courier service, travels to Hong Kong to deliver eyes and is spotted by Skinner. Skinner was there to get "custom made suits at slave labor prices."

*In "Simpson Safari", the Simpsons are awarded an African Safari vacation by a food company seeking to avoid a lawsuit.

* In "Bart vs. Australia", the Simpson family travels to Australia (to either Sydney or Canberra, not fully stated) at the behest of the U.S. State Department so Bart can deliver an official apology to the people of Australia.

*In "Missionary: Impossible", Homer is sent to Micronesia after failing to donate a promised $10,000 to PBS.

* In "Blame It on Lisa", the Simpson family (minus Maggie) go to Rio de Janeiro in search of a missing Brazilian orphan boy that Lisa has been secretly sponsoring.

* In "The Bart Wants What it Wants", the entire family goes to Toronto after Bart follows Rainier Wolfcastle's daughter Greta there.

* In "Midnight Rx", Homer and Grampa go to Winnipeg on drug smuggling trips. Mr. Burns, Flanders and Apu also tag along.

* In "The Trouble with Trillions", Homer, Waylon Smithers, and Mr Burns flee to Cuba after absconding from the United States with a trillion-dollar bill.

* In "Simpsons Tall Tales", the family is finally on their way there by train. Apparently a follow-up to the premise from "Behind the Laughter" with some dialogue taken verbatim.

* In "Sunday, Cruddy Sunday" a multitude of Springfield residents travel on a chartered tour bus to Miami, Florida to watch the Super Bowl.

* In "Catch 'Em If You Can" Homer and Marge go to Miami, only to be followed by Grandpa, Bart and Lisa.

* In "Little Big Mom", Homer and Bart are sent to a leper colony in Hawaii after Lisa plays a prank on them.

* In "Viva Ned Flanders", Homer and Ned Flanders travel together to Las Vegas in an effort for Homer to help Ned live a more spontaneous and less-predictable life.

* In "We're on the Road to D'ohwhere", Homer drives Bart to an Upward Bound Camp. Oregon is also mentioned as the "spoiled forest birthplace of Matt Groening."

* In "Treehouse of Horror IV", when Lisa suspects Mr Burns is a vampire, Mr Burns invites the Simpson family to his country home in Pennsylvania (which is made to seem like Transylvania. (Considered non-canonical.)

* In "Bart vs. Lisa vs. the Third Grade", Bart and Lisa go missing during a school field trip to Capital City.

* In "Home Away from Homer", Ned Flanders and his sons escape Springfield, but Homer successfully pleads with Ned to return.

Shelbyville
* In "Lemon of Troy", the citizens of Springfield battle their counterparts in Shelbyville for a lemon tree.

* In "The Seven-Beer Snitch", the Simpson family visits Shelbyville on a day of sightseeing and shopping.

North Haverbrook
* In "Marge vs. the Monorail", it is one of the towns that Lyle Lanley sold a defective monorail system to. Marge goes there to check their monorail against her suspicions about Lanley, only to find a ruined town.

* In "Little Big Girl", Bart, after gaining a driver's license, flees to North Haverbrook to escape Homer's constant need of favors. The town appears to have recovered from its monorail debacle.

Guidopolis
* In "Midnight Towboy", it's depicted as a sleazy-looking town in which a tow-truck driver named Louie inspires Homer to become a tow-truck driver himself.

Little Pwagmattasquarmsettport
* In "Summer of 4 Ft. 2", the Simpson family go on summer vacation in Ned Flanders beach-house in Little Pwagmattasquarmsettport. The name parodies the awkward Algonquian placenames that are common on the coasts of Massachusetts and Connecticut.

Bronson, Missouri
* In "The Old Man and the Key", Grampa and Bart stop off in Bronson, Missouri, mistaking it for Branson, Missouri. All of the Bronson townspeople speak and act like Charles Bronson, including the women and children.

International Waters
* In "The Trouble with Trillions", the military jets following the plane carrying Homer, Mr Burns and Smithers are forced to turn back when the plane enters international waters. As soon as the plane leaves U.S. airspace, Homer starts gambling.

* In "The Mansion Family", Homer and a multitude of characters sail to international waters so Moe can sell alcohol legally.

* In "Deep Space Homer", Homer goes into outer space as part of a NASA space mission concocted to improve viewer ratings.
