Townie techno

Townie Techno is a short music film made in Winona, Minnesota, in 2005. The film uses the song "Phat Bass" by DJ Scribble to document the town of Winona and its various scenic venues. Townie Techno was edited and produced by four students, all of whom attended Winona Senior High School. The students include Josh Peterson (Petey), Karl Bernatz (Karl), Nathan Weess (Weess) and Nathan Johnson (Nate). The short film has produced an online fan base on numerous Internet sites.
Townie Techno has been noted as a representation of Winona and its young population. Certain popular destinations in the film include the Winona Bandshell, Lake Winona, the levee and Bluffside Park. The film also represents the underground music scene in Winona which has long since remained dormant.
Political references
Townie Techno has an underlying theme of political rebellion. Certain scenes in the film depict a political figure in poor light, relating him to a monkey. This image is known as a representation of the young liberal movement in Winona. In a town so politically diverse with an age old religious background conflicting with a strong college age base, Townie Techno shows representations of the town's liberal voice.
