TorrentPier

TorrentPier is a BitTorrent tracker and indexer engine based on phpBB2. It is mainly used by Russian users, because of its use by the BitTorrent tracker Rutracker.org.
The project, including the tracker, is written entirely in PHP. Torrents are organised according to the torrent → topic model: each torrent is linked to a single topic on a forum, which serves as the indexer. The relevant torrent file is uploaded to the first message of a topic by the author, and subsequently registered on the tracker. The tracker and indexer are closely integrated, although the program's database structure allows them to run on separate servers.
The TorrentPier project also supports two alternative tracker backends written in C++: one based on , and the other on What.CD Ocelot.
History
Version 1
Starting the development of the engine coincides with the opening of the largest Russian-speaking torrent tracker torrents.ru (now Rutracker.org) — September 18, 2004 — which still uses it, though with large improvements. Meithar is a founder of the project.
Version 2
Development of version 2 began in June 2011.
