Tony Nguyen

Tony Nguyen (born October 1980) is a Vietnamese Canadian reality TV star, Thai Boxing and MMA specialist who was born and raised in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) and known for appearing on the hit reality series Rich Bride Poor Bride; found on both the Slice Network (in Canada) and WEtv (in USA).

Early Life:
Tony Nguyen was born in Ontario, Canada and is the youngest of two siblings of Thanh Huy Nguyen and Nhien Cao, who where two of many boat people who fled the ravaged country of Vietnam back in 1978. Tony was named after the famous Tony Bennett; who’s music serenaded the family throughout tough times. He has an older brother named Tan. Tony describes his childhood as suburban. He was athletic (however did not join school teams), shy and scholastically “advanced”. In elementary school other children would taunt him about his ethnicity and Tony would daydream about beating up his haters.

Having spent his early 20’s in the gym pumping iron Tony decided to concentrate his energy into martial arts by taking up Thai Boxing and recently due to the rise of the UFC; MMA.

Reality TV:

It was May 2007, the Slice Network aired Rich Bride Poor Brides its most controversial episode titled “Going Bridal” ”: Christy (Nguyen) is a self-titled ``princess” who demands her prefect princes wedding day - Watch has her groom (Tony Nguyen) tries to knock her off the throne.

Arguably the most talked about episode fans of the show are able to spot the famous couple due to Tony's charm and boyish good looks. Many also believe Tony’s charisma can be seen from space.
