:For the Roman Catholic Bishop, see Tod David Brown. Todd Eastman Brown (born June 17, 1972 in Watertown, New York) is an American actor, and singer. Biography Todd Brown was born in Watertown, New York, and lived in Adams Center, New York until early 1981. At that time his family relocated to Concord, North Carolina, where he quickly became involved in auto racing. Todd's racing career spanned over 10 years capturing over 100 wins and 2 championships before he turned his sights to entertainment. In 1998 he was spotted by a casting director and began to study acting. After making appearances in a few commercials, a PBS special and other small features, Todd turned his sights full time toward his music. In 2002 his debut release with the band Withstand was released titled Brookshire Freeway and a second release in 2004 titled Nothing. Working on movie soundtracks in 2003, he was once again taken in by desire to perform in front of the camera. Taking on movie roles in projects for 2004 and beyond Todd has combined his position as an actor and musician/composer. Musical career In December 2001 Todd Brown along with Mike Genett formed Withstand. By April 2002 the band had recorded and released their first CD titled Brookshire Freeway. It wasn't long before the band was receiving radio airplay and taking the show on the road. Throughout the next couple years the band continued to tour on a regular basis. In 2004 Withstand's second release Nothing was released under the Indie label Zen Wang Bingo. Once again Todd and the band continued promoting the album. In 2004 the band created a music series called Technonomicon in which they also took part in and played every show. In 2005 the Technonomicon series kicked off with new metal heavyweights Trivium headlining the first show along with Withstand. Outside of the Technonomicon series Withstand also played shows across the south including sharing the stage with the up and coming Chris Daughtry. In January 2005 Todd was contacted by the offices of Mark Burnett Productions for a closed audition for the original Rock Star series on CBS. Todd was given the industry referral whiched allowed him to bypass the worldwide open casting call and audition directly in front of the shows producers for the position fronting INXS. In 2007 Withstand released their third album titled The Righteous Path Of Destruction and continue to tour on a limited basis. On July 18, 2010 Todd Brown received the award for "Best Male Vocals In Rock" at the 2010 CMAwards (Carolina Music Awards) at the Progress Energy Center for the Performing Arts in Raleigh NC. This planted the seed that would later develop into his love and appreciation for film. In 1998 Todd began studying the craft of acting and signed with Sass Models and Talent. After a couple jobs with Sass, Todd realized that this scene was more for commercial and print work. This resulted in him stepping away to take on music full time. In 2003 while working on a sound track for an independent film, Todd once again realized his strong passion for acting. Except this time Todd was taking the approach of the popular indie film scene. Becoming well known to many with his success in Withstand and for his eccentric stage performance, it was easy to make his presence known. Quickly making connections and once again studying the art of acting Todd is gaining a successful career in the indie films. Todd also has written a screenplay titled Mindset and is nearly finished with his second titled Book Of Life. Plans are to begin filming Mindset in the fall of 2010 with Book Of Life to follow.
