Timothy O.E. Lang

Timothy O.E. Lang, B.A. M.A., is President and Chief Executive Officer of YES - Youth Employment Services, Toronto, Canada. YES serves hundreds of thousands of at risk youth and provides services, programs, training and life skills followed by employment placement through partnerships with thousands of businesses. The YES mission is "changing lives...forever".
Early life
Timothy O.E. Lang was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and was raised in Ottawa and Winnipeg while his father, Otto Lang, served as and Transport in the Cabinet of Prime minister Pierre Trudeau. Timothy is one of seven children, including (one deceased, Maria): Andrew Lang, a communications advisor who was the federal Liberal candidate for the riding of Toronto—Danforth in 2008 and 2011; Gregory Lang, Chief Operating Officer of Solera Sustainable Energies Co.; Elisabeth Lang, a lawyer and Chief of Staff for the Competition Bureau for the Government of Canada; Adrian Lang, a lawyer and former Partner at Stikeman-Elliot and currently Head of Strategy for Personal and Commercial Banking at BMO Financial Group; and Amanda Lang , a Canadian national television news personality and bestselling author and former host of the on CBC an currently host of Bloomberg North.
Tim holds a Bachelor of Arts in political science and history from StFX University, a master's degree from the University of Manitoba, and completed his thesis on the Rise and fall of the Liberal Party in Manitoba. Tim completed the Ivey Business School Executive Program at Western University (KPMG CommunityShift ).
Career
Timothy Lang held senior management and executive positions with several multi-national corporations including Xerox Corp., Bell Canada, Olympia & York, and Just Energy, where he led record North American Expansion and growth as Global Vice President. Lang served as Vice President External Relations at St. Francis Xavier University leading his division to achieve record growth in national reputation, Alumni affinity, communications and fundraising, which included working closely with former Prime Minister Brian Mulroney to raise $50 Million for the Mulroney Institute of Government. In 2015 Lang assumed the President & CEO role at Youth Employment Services in Toronto. for the Liberal Party of Canada in the 2004 Federal Election under Prime Minister Paul Martin and lost narrowly to Bev Oda in the riding of Clarington-Scugog-Uxbridge (Durham)
Recognition and Service
Timothy Lang received the Queen Elizabeth II Silver Jubilee Medal in 2012 for outstanding contributions to the community. Tim has served and serves on several not-for-profit boards, food banks and youth organizations. Tim speaks and lectures frequently at national events, corporations and universities on topics of leadership, motivation, sales, marketing, communications, fundraising, and more. Tim Lang is active in sport and was Captain of the University of Manitoba Bison's Football team and played for StFX X-Men Football Team, as well as with the Ealing Eagles in London England.
