Tim Riedel

Tim Riedel (born December 9th, 1978) is a Canadian musician and television producer. He has been involved in variety of projects within the entertainment industry but is most prominently known as the founder of the Canadian independent rock band Sylmarillion, and later as the lead singer of the group Falling Forward.
Television career
After receiving a diploma in radio and television Broadcasting, Riedel took on the role of producer for the children’s multimedia entertainment company KidsWebTv.
In addition to his role as producer, head writer and director, Riedel also voiced several characters for KidsWebTv’s flagship series Eddy Unleashed. The program first aired in 1998 on the Global Network in Canada then later expanded its broadcast footprint to include YTV (Canada), Teletoon (Canada), TV3 (UK) and TV3 (New Zealand).
Musical career
Riedel first appeared in the Canadian music scene with Sylmarillion’s self-released EP in 1998. The album featured three songs written by Riedel: "Just One", "My Way" and "Hyde", all of which would reach the top of Canadian university charts by the end of 1998. Riedel recorded another album with Sylmarillion in 2003. This album caught the attention of marketing executives at the Labatt Brewing Company who signed the band to promote their Budweiser branded beer.
Tim Riedel spent much of 2004 and 2005 touring with Sylmarillion as part of the Bud True Music campaign which provided mainstream radio and television exposure. This tour garnered Sylmarillion their most commercial success to date.
In 2006 Sylmarillion disbanded, prompting Tim Riedel to leave his hometown of Winnipeg, Manitoba, and move to Vancouver to form the band Falling Forward with former Sylmarillion guitarist Danny McKenzie. Tim Riedel released two albums with the band Falling Forward under the S.Y.L. Records label.
