Thomas M. Ashe - (1966- ") is a politician from the state of Massachusetts. He currently is a City Councilor in Springfield as an At-Large Councilor. Previously, he was a ten year member of the Springfield School Committee. He was elected to the committee in 1999 with an overwhelming victory. He then was re- elected to the committee in 2004 and 2008. He has served as Vice- Chairman of the committee three previous times. (In 2003-2005) In 2005, Ashe ran for the office of mayor of Springfield, MA. However, he lost to incumbent mayor Charlie Ryan. Ashe also currently serves as Director of Community Corrections at the Worcester County Sheriff's Debt. He is responsible for the operational and administrative activities of probation and parole services, community sentencing services, community corrections centers, and community work centers. Ashe ran for the City Council in Springfield in 2009, having won an At- Large seat. He received 10,666 votes, coming in third out of five. He was sworn in as a City Councilor on January 4, 2010. Tom was appointed to be the Chairman of the City Council Sub-Committee on Public Health & Safety by City Council President Jose Tosado.
