Thomas Jackson Charlton (physician, born 1895)

Thomas Jackson Charlton IV (April 19, 1895 - February 27, 1955) was a 20th-century American physician.
Life and career
Charlton was the son of Thomas Charlton III and Wilhelmina Stewart Howell.
He attended the Episcopal High School in Alexandria, Virginia, after which he went to Yale University in Connecticut. He graduated in the class of 1917. He also graduated from Yale School of Medicine.
During World War I, he was a lieutenant in the 49th Field Artillery. In World War II, he was lieutenant colonel in the Philippines.<ref name=":1" />
He married Anne Carrington Read in 1930. She was Society Editor at the Savannah Morning News before her death in 1952. They had three children: Mrs. Maxwell Lippitt Jr. of Atlanta, Thomas and Read.<ref name=":1" />
He was the owner of Greenfield, a plantation house in Charlotte County, Virginia.<ref name=":1" />
Death
Charlton died on February 27, 1955, in Savannah, aged 59. He was interred in Bonaventure Cemetery, joining his wife there. She predeceased him by seven years.
