Thomas Clifford Peters

Thomas Clifford Peters was known as Cliff. He was born in Rhymney in 1919 and died in Bristol in 2002 where he had been resident since after World War II.
Cliff was awarded an MBE for services to local government. He served as Leader of Mangotsfield District Council as an Independent for many years. By profession he was a school teacher. He served in WWII in the RAF as a wireless operator and tail gunner. His autobiography is entitled TAFFY, TWIST and TANNERS and was published shortly before his death. He is survived by his daughter Val and sister Phyllis (Price), who was also born and bred in Rhymney.
