Thomas Aeschi

Thomas Aeschi (born 13 January 1979, Zug, Switzerland) is a Swiss politician. He is the president of the Swiss People’s Party (SVP) in Baar, Switzerland.

Professional career
Thomas Aeschi works as a strategy consultant for an international management consulting firm. Before working in the consulting industry, Mr. Aeschi was a Zurich- and Melbourne-based analyst in the mergers and acquisitions group of a large financial institution. Mr. Aeschi was also a member of the organizing committee of the St. Gallen Symposium, which aims to stimulate thought and action for the sustained success of companies and societies in a globalised world. In the Swiss Military, Mr. Aeschi holds the rank of a first lieutenant.
Education
Aeschi holds a Master in Public Administration from Harvard University (John F. Kennedy School of Government) and a Master of Business Administration from the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland’s leading business school. He also studied at Tel Aviv University in Israel and at University Sains Malaysia in Malaysia.
Mr. Aeschi was born and raised in the canton of Zug in Switzerland. While attending the cantonal high school, he was on a student exchange at a U.S. High School in the vicinity of Chicago, living for one year with an American host family.
