This Is Only the Beginning is a two tape demo by the Finnish band HIM, released in 1995. Recorded in Lepakko, Finland in 1993, this album was only released in Finland. In the official HIM biography - Synnin Viemää, Ville Valo says that he plays bass, drums and sings, whilst Mikko Lindström plays guitars. The Wicked Game cover ensured a contract with BMG Finland, claims Valo in Synnin Viemää. The song Borellus on the other hand has lyrics taken directly out of the book The Case of Charles Dexter Ward by H.P. Lovecraft.
