Third Best

Third Best is a Melbourne based fashion blog hosted by The Age online and Fairfax Digital.

Creation
Third Best was launched in 2006 at blogspot.com, by a pair only ever credited as "Nadia" and "Adele". By 2007 the blog had been scouted by the Fairfax paper, The Age, where it currently resides online in their blog section. Since this time the blog has continued to document "street muses" as well as major fashion events, such as Melbourne Spring Fashion week.

Style
Third Best []is a "street fashion" blog, similar in concept to "face hunter" and "three thousand", wherein members of the public are photographed and featured because of the appeal of their outfits. The blog is commonly identified as following the "gen y" and '"ipster" trend, with many of the outfits featured being deemed "indie" and alternative in style, and captioned with a blunt and sarcastic writing style. Many famous Melbourne landmarks and "haunts" have been featured, including in and around Flinders Street Station, Federation Square, RMIT and the St Jerome’s bar and café.

Criticism
Third Best has been subject to positive reviews online, and while generally accepted enthusiastically by the public, has generated negative commentary. Such commentary relates to the views that the format and styles pursued are often unsophisticated or too youth orientated, with some commentators labeling the blog "crude" and "indecent".
