Theatre Alliance of Buffalo (TAB) was founded September 2004, by sixteen professional producing theatres from Western New York. The coalition was originally titled The Buffalo Theatre Alliance (TBTA). The Theatre Alliance of Buffalo is a collection of theatre groups in WNY working together as one to provide support for the regions theatrical productions. Since its inception, the Theatre Alliance of Buffalo has grown to 22 member theatre groups. Management The collaboration is managed by regular communication and committees. Governed by by-laws and elected officials, the executive or managing directors of each organization rotate the position of president for two-year terms. Regular monthly meetings and committee meetings are held. Three committees: Executive, Development Committee & Curtain Up! Committees--meet regularly to represent all levels of the collaboration. TAB's first President in 2007-2009 -- Randall Kramer Artistic/Executive Director of MusicalFare Theatre Community Contribution Theatre Alliance of Buffalo is a non-profit organization whose members provide individual choices of entertainment, education, shared human experiences and quality of life components for families with children, individual life styles, and all ethnicities that reside or visit WNY. The tangible results include: supplying jobs for people raising families and making homes in our community; purchasing goods and services and providing programs to WNY residents. The collaboration aims to facilitate the ability to recruit professionals to area, contribute assets to our growing knowledge-based economy; provide entertainment, and produce enriching educational programs in local schools, universities/colleges and continuing education programs.
