The Workmans Club is a music venue in Dublin. History The building, located on Wellington Quay (next door to the U2-owned Clarence Hotel) has existed on this site for over 160 years and from 1888 to 2003 was the home of the original Workingmens Club. Actor Cillian Murphy appeared at the venue in 2011 in aid of Focus Ireland. The event was hosted by Des Bishop and featured the band Little Green Cars. Venue The venue is based over two floors and with a number of sections. The main live room is a 300 capacity venue and beside it is the venue bar. The first floor bar features regular DJ's, the vintage room is significantly smaller, the no.9 room and the rooftop terrace make up the entire venue. Notable acts Along with regular clubnight DJ's, the venue has hosted the likes of Villagers, Jerry Fish, RUN iN RED, James Walsh, Dan le sac vs. Scroobius Pip, Lisa Hannigan, Si Schroeder, The Minutes, Mark Geary, Lir, Damien Dempsey, Allen Stone, Fontaines D.C., and Pillow Queens.
