The Villanovas

The Villanovas are a British blues rock band formed in Bournemouth in May 2014. The band consists of Brett Smith-Daniels on Vocals and Lead Guitar, Jamie White on Lead and Rhythm Guitar, Connor Fox on Bass, and James McBride on Drums.
The Villanovas were The Blues Magazine's ‘2015 Band To Watch’ and they were the winners of The Larmer Tree Festival ‘Breakthrough Artist Award 2015’. The Villanovas formed at music college in Bournemouth, Dorset. Drawing their musical influences from a wide musical spectrum which includes contemporary rock bands such as Rival Sons and The Black Keys. The Villanovas also incorporate the best elements of classic blues, and rock artists like The Rolling Stones, The Beatles and Led Zeppelin.
In December 2014, the band preformed in the music venue Mr. Kyps in Poole, Dorset for their Debut EP Launch. The EP.
Steve Rodford, the current drummer for The Zombies was a mentor to the band for a brief period during 2015, offering valuable advice.
The band released a new music video for their debut song ‘Burning Planes’ in March 2015. Followed by a single "Honest Man" in July 2015, which received airplay on BBC Radio Solent, and BBC Radio Wiltshire. During the summer festival season in 2015 the band made appearances at The Larmer Tree festival in Wiltshire, and Bournemouth Summer Ball in Dorset. To date The Villanovas have supported artists , Dr. Feelgood, The Magic Gang, The Ordinary Boys and Raglans
