The Threat Remains

The Threat Remains are a five piece metalcore band from Glasgow,Scotland. At present the band have featured in Four national music magazines including 'Rock Sound', 'Metal Hammer' and 'Big Cheese', the band also self-released a debut album in late 2006 through 'Sonic Temple Recordings' entitled 'Darkness Surrounds', followed by a UK tour and a host of gigs in glasgow with such bands as The Black Dahlia Murder, Bring Me The Horizon and Eternal Lord.
Months after releasing 'Darkness Surrounds', the band changed its lineup after the departure of lead singer Daniel Service. The band quickly found a new singer in former 'The Punchline Is Murder' and current 'Co-Exist' vocalist Mark Fry. After several months of writing the band returned onto the Glasgow scene with a gig at 'Ivory Blacks' with 'Eternal Lord' and have since supported the likes of 'Waking The Cadaver', 'Misery Signals' and 'Architects'.
In 2009, the band will be releasing their second album 'Doombringer' which shows a departure from their earlier melodic metal roots to a harder and more aggressive sound.

Personnel
Guitarists Craig Lees (Guitar) and Barry Henderson (Guitar and Backing Vocals) have been playing in bands together since they were 14 years old. After several incarnations, the first full line up of the band also featured; Daniel Service (Vocals), Derek Wilson (Bass) and Steve Sandlin (Drums).
After a few gigs with the band Derek Wilson, left to pursue other bands, Thy Shall Reign, and currently Blessed Apostle.
Colin Armstrong - friend of the band - joined in 2005, following a chance meeting at a concert. Shortly after, the band played their first show at the Subway in Edinburgh, which has since been closed down.
The band continued on under this lineup until late 2007 with the departure of Daniel Service, who currently performs vocals for Glasgow metal band Glory By Fire. Mark Fry, formerly of 'The Punchline Is Murder...', 'Bloodstory' and currently also fronting 'Co-Exist' joined the band in November 2007 and is currently fronting the band.

Musical Style
The bands sound has been described as a melodic blend of metal with elements of hardcore, drawing such comparisons as Bleeding Through, As I Lay Dying and The Black Dahlia Murder.
The band describe themselves as; "a metal band that draw on our influences of other genres to create a blend of heaviness, melody, and technicality."
