The Spirals of Danu

The Spirals of Danu is a horror-fantasy book series written by the British writer Martin Adil-Smith, set alternately on a dystopian Earth and in the fictional realm of Sumerland. The books take inspiration from, Stephen King, Clive Barker, H. P. Lovecraft and Edgar Allan Poe, as well as mythology, folklore and fairy tales, often splicing genuine historical events with a fictional narrative.
Overview
The Spirals of Danu is the name given to a fictional universe where a petulant god has been expelled from heaven and in Her rage creates the physical universe a power source to use in a celestial war. The inhabitants of the universe are manipulated into strife and conflict by the servants of god in order to promote war and disharmony as it these times when mortal creatures are most likely to pray, and prayer sustains the demon god.
Various mortals come to realise the true reason for their being and whilst some choose to fight back, others collude in exchange for physical rewards.
