The Socrates Project

The Socrates Project
The Socrates Project is a United Nations project which has been developed in almost complete secrecy. Believed to have commenced in 2005 , the project set out to use modern technology and ancient wisdom to address growing threats endemic to global democracies.
Many believe that the project was deliberately named in a similar fashion to Project Socrates - a project launched in 1983 by Ronald Reagan aimed at ensuring America remained an economic superpower in decades to come. It is alleged that the striking similar name, allowed US funding for the UN project to be disguised.

Early history
During the early years of the new millennium, a sizeable collection of highly-respected scientists, think tanks and intellectuals came together to warn the United Nations of alarming trends which could lead to the collapse of global civilisations.
Their concerns were based on:
* The growing body of evidence of how humans were altering the climate with potentially disastrous consequences
* A deepening and radicalisation of relations between the West and Islam set against a global backdrop of rising religious tensions
* The risk of uncontrolled economic growth fuelled by low-interest debt exploding into a prolonged depression and the disastrous effect this could have on indebted-low income families and international relations.

In short these experts saw a return of food scarcity, poverty and religious tensions - conditions which had triggered previous world wars.
Mission
The Socrates Project was formulated to work out how to avoid social unrest, future resource wars and environmental collapse. The official project aims are believed to be less explicit and focused on the need to build stable and happy societies in an attempt to garner widespread support from smaller UN member countries.
The G20 governments, with some heavy caveats from the US, seem to have agreed behind the scenes to be bound by the project’s findings. Strong resistance from powerful vested interests and a need for secrecy to protect the integrity of the project findings are believed to be the reasons behind the project’s intense secrecy.
Sicads
According to sources close to the project, a team of 400 sicads were developed to find solutions to avert future societal collapse. The exact origin of the individual sicads is unclear, but there is evidence that they have been trained in Socratic Method and mentored to be highly virtuous to avoid all self-interest in their pursuit for solutions to the many threats to global stability.
Sicads are believed to blend the best of modern technology and ancient Socratic wisdom, whilst acting virtuously in humans’ longer-term interests. were believed to have put together the humanitarian committee who oversaw the sicads moral training. The sicads are believed to be spread over the 190 plus member countries of the United Nations. Despite the extreme secrecy of the project, there have been a few “sicad sightings”, which have been strenuously denied by the United Nations.
