The Screening Room

The Screening Room is a proposed video on demand service developed by Sean Parker, co-founder of Napster and former Facebook president.
The service would consist of a service box that would cost $USD 150 which grant online access to major mainstream feature films that are currently running in first run movie theatres for a 48-hour period for $USD 50 at a time.
The proposed service is opposed by National Association of Theatre Owners and the Art House Convergence, consisting of art house movie theatres, as it would undermine their business and encourage movie piracy.
As for film studios, Walt Disney Pictures has already rejected the service, but rivals like Universal Pictures, 20th Century Fox and Sony Pictures are studying the proposal.
