The Return of the Heartless Monster is the upcoming fifth studio album by American rapper 50 Cent. It is set to be released in 2010 or 2011. Background The album was announced as early as May 2009, when 50 Cent said in an interview with MTV that he will be releasing a follow up LP one month after the release of Eminem's Recovery. 50 Cent announced the album's title as Black Magic during a backstage interview. In an interview with MTV, 50 Cent announced that the album will be released during the summer of 2010, "I kind of planned on releasing Black Magic ... I gave myself a goal to try and put it out by the end of the summer, so I'll work that hard on the actual project." In July 2010, 50 told Rolling Stone magazine that he considered shelving the album but it's not confirmed yet if the album will be shelved or released. Record label According to 50 Cent he signed a five-album deal with Interscope, the fifth one being a greatest hits compilation. Due to rumors about a possible new label switch, it's uncertain on which label the final fifth album will be released. When asked about his contract in a recent interview, he responded "I've just had several people express an interest at the same time, so to say that I would stay would be a negative read to them, and to say that I would go would be negative to the people I'm with, so I don't want to say either way." 50 Cent said a Def Jam deal is possible and has discussed it multiple times. On July 3, 2010, it was reported that he had signed with Capitol Records but the G-Unit camp has denied those claims.He also called Capitol CEO Craig Davies an idiot for releasing this false information. 50 Cent further stated that he hasn't ruled out re-signing to Interscope as he has had much success with them. Recording 50 Cent stated in an interview that he recorded three songs for the album, while on tour in Europe. 50 Cent later stated that he had recorded a further nineteen songs for the album. Rap producer, Bangladesh revealed in August that he had recently been on the phone with 50, and that he would be sending him tracks for the album. In a interview with rapfix live Swizz Beatz stated that he was working on 50 Cent's fifth studio album and said there was a possible collaboration in the making. He said Recently, 50 revealed via Twitter that he would not be cutting his hair until he finished the album. Also on twitter, Jackson revealed that he had did a song with currently incarcerated rapper Lil Boosie, which may be featured on the album. 50 Cent recently announced that he will temporarily quitting twitter so that he can focus on writing new, upcoming album, the follow up to his "Before I Self Destruct" project. Telling his fans he wants to focus on his new project, "Ok ladies and gentalmen I'm writing my new album. I will not be on twitter again till sept 6This album will be a classic," 50 tweeted Wednesday (August 31). On September 3rd, 50 Cent showed support to longtime mentor Eminem, and appeared on his and Jay-Z's Home & Home Tour, where he met rapper B.o.B. and discussed with him, the possibility of doing a collaboration together. 50 Cent stated that a record with Kanye West might appear on the album. Guests 50 Cent has been in the studio recording with artists like Eminem, Kanye West, Lloyd Banks, B.o.B, Lady Gaga, Lil Boosie, Lil Kim, Akon, Ryan Leslie, Swizz Beatz and Busta Rhymes.
