The Matinee

The Matinee is a radio show broadcast on 103.6fm Tameside Radio. It first aired on Gaydio 87.7 fm Hosted by James Dean and Madame Aries, Gaydio reccently had a boost to its application for a full time community licence from Ofcom.
Tameside Radio Launched on the 30th Septemeber 2008 and the Matinee started the following Sunday.

It plays all the best in showtunes and some great interviews. Interviews in the past include Shane Ritchie, Stephen Gatley, Faye Tozer, Nicki French and many more. James Dean worked in radio for over 10 years before joing forces with the indominatable Madame Aries. They broadcast every Sunday from 3pm - 5pm on 103.6fm Tameside Radio.
James Dean was a judge alongside Sue Jenkins for Tameside's Most Talented which saw Britains Got Talents Alex Lees performing.


Madame A is a long established performer who first started in London following in the footsteps of the inimitable Lily Savage, she even did Panto, typcast as one of the ugly sisters.
The show recently was involved with Sue Jenkins Gala Night of stars a show that was borne to try and save the Tameside Hippodrome.
The Madame Aries Teeth appeal started off as a joke, A quip made on the show. James Dean ensured that every celebrity that was interviewed also made an appeal to the Madame Aries Teeth Appeal.

James Dean is 28 and a huge fan of musical theatre. His favourite shows include, Avenue Q, Never Forget, Phantom of the opera and Naked Boys Singing.

There is also a podcast available altgough it appears its not updated every show.
The Matinee podcast was advertised in the magazine Out North West although nothing reccently.

They also recently covered West End Live.

Latley they did a live show where all the music was performed and sung live. The performers included Mark Wood Kate Gavanagh and Nicki French
Comments about this show included "I really enjoyed speaking to James and Madame Aries - Two lovely people, and they made us all feel very welcome there, and Nicki brought tears to Madame Aries eyes, when she heard her doing those songs from the musicals"
