The Manchester Gazette is an online news publisher which covers Manchester City Centre and the ten boroughs of Greater Manchester. it regularly features articles from the Labour Party, Conservatives, Liberal Democrats and UK Independence Party. Manchester Gazette was one of the only media organisations in Manchester to support John Leech in the 2015 general election. In April 2013, the Manchester City Council threatened to take legal action against The Manchester Gazette for what the council said was unauthorized use of the City's coat of arms on the Gazettes website. The Gazette asserted that it had already the necessary permission in an email that was subsequently lost. Withington MP John Leech criticized the threat as a "massive over-reaction and waste of money". The Gazette began using a different header—an outline of the city skyline—in October 2013. |
