The Indiana Jones Interrogations

The Indiana Jones Interrogations is a fan film web series inspired by the Indiana Jones franchise. The first episode was posted on YouTube on July 21, 2015. The series is designed as a mini-series character study of the Indiana Jones character, created by George Lucas and most famously portrayed on film by Harrison Ford, whose portrayal is the one emulated on screen by the series' creator/main star, Jonathan Rogers.
Plot
The series takes the form of old, damaged war tapes filmed in the year 1937, during a period when Indiana Jones has been captured by the Nazis, and is being roughly interrogated by them as part of an evil scheme by Adolf Hitler. His main interrogator is Indy's former star pupil, Dr. Claire Capshaw, who has defected to Germany, and he also occasionally interacts with Major Arnold Albrecht, a proud and cruel Nazi commander, and Dr. Erik Oberhaust, a sadistic and grouchy Nazi scientist. Each episode chronicles Indy's time in captivity, and explores some of the character's inner psyche and has him confront the idea of moral ambiguity with his sworn enemies.
Characters
* Jonathan Rogers as Indiana Jones: The protagonist of the series, and the same character as that portrayed by Harrison Ford in the four theatrical films, age 38, although Jonathan Rogers was only 23 at the time of filming.
* Rebecca Cardenas and Samantha Walsh (both voice only) as Dr. Claire Capshaw: A young American archeologist that studied under Indy at Marshall College, who has defected to Nazi Germany, and is charged with interrogating her old friend. A voice-only role played off camera, for the first two episodes Cardenas portrayed the character, and from Episode 3 onward, Claire is played by New York actress Samantha Walsh.
* Steve White (voice only) as Dr. Erik Oberhaust: An older, curmudgeonly and cruel-hearted Nazi scientist who initially sat in on the interrogations with Claire, and this creates tension between him and Indy. Like Claire, this is a voice-only role, portrayed by prolific voice actor Steve White.
* Jonathan Rogers (voice only) as Major Arnold Albrecht: A Nazi commander who dislikes Claire and her sentimental connection to Indy, and is easily angered by Indy's attitude.
Development and reception
The series began as a vague concept in the mind of aspiring filmmaker Jonathan Rogers, who had previously found limited success on YouTube as an adventure film critic spoofing Indiana Jones. He wished to make a fan film for the character proper, that would be more of a small-scale character study. After putting the idea on hold for several years, in early 2015, Rogers resurrected the idea, and collaborated with fellow filmmaker Jonas Acuff, communicating over the Internet to develop the concept further. This was when the idea of filming the story in the style of found footage was decided upon.
Casting for the series' supporting voice-only roles took place that summer, with Rogers creating a casting call on the website Casting Call Club, where Twitch live streamer Rebecca Cardenas and voice actor Steve White were cast as Dr. Claire Capshaw and Dr. Erik Oberhaust, respectively. During production of Episode 3, Cardenas became unavailable to continue the role, and so New York independent film actress Samantha Walsh was cast to replace her as Claire for the remainder of the series. Acuff is slated to eventually voice a role in the finale of the series.
The first episode debuted on YouTube, on the channel “Shattered Star Productions” that July, and reception to the series so far has been positive, especially from the Indiana Jones fanbase. Websites such as The 7th Matrix and The Geek Speak Show both gave high marks to the series, with the former stating, “the success or failure of the project hinges on the performance of the main player. No problems here. Mr. Rogers seems to channel Harrison Ford's essence even down to his speech patterns and facial affectations, the banter between Indy and Claire is very well-written, and sounds like a deleted scene from one of the films.” The latter conducted an interview on their podcast with Rogers, where he discussed the origins of the series, and the hosts of the podcast complimented the style and creativity of the concept.
