The Grove is a shopping center in Downers Grove, Illinois that was built in 1986. It features Petco, The Room Place and other stores. Originally a semi-enclosed outdoor mall, it was converted into a simple open strip center in 2002. Toys R Us opened in 1989. In 1995, Barnes & Noble and Wendy's opened. Two years later in 1997, KFC And Long John Silvers was built. In the early 2010s, Barnes & Noble closed and was replaced by Blast Fitness. In 2017, Ultra Foods closed to the public. The Shopping Center went up for sale weeks later. In June 2018, Toys R Us closed all locations as part of bankruptcy. In Autumn 2018, Marshalls closed its store at The Grove and moved to the Willowbrook Town Center in Willowbrook, Illinois. |
