The GOAT Store

The GOAT Store is an American video game developer and publisher, officially formed as a limited liability company in the state of Wisconsin on May 15 2001. Its name derives from Games Of All Types. The mascot is Copper, the goat of Jeff Minter of Llamasoft.

The company is also known for their Dreamcast releases. The GOAT Store is an annual sponsor of the Midwest Gaming Classic, with owners Dan Loosen and Gary Heil also being the co-founders of the show.

History
The GOAT Store started out as Team 13, consisting of Dan Loosen and Gary Heil. Team 13 was a subsidiary of the former Atari Jaguar and Atari Lynx developer Dark Knight Games, now known as Chasma, Inc., a developer of games for cellphones.

Team 13 was set up to design and sell products for the Atari Jaguar and Atari Lynx. They designed a joystick extension for Atari Jaguar joypads, the Team 13 joystick, and designed a more sturdy joystick for the Jaguar using arcade-quality parts, the Jaguar JAMMA Joystick.

Publishing
In 2003, The GOAT Store formed a division, GOAT Store Publishing, to sell games for the Sega Dreamcast system.

The first game published under the GOAT Store Publishing label was Feet of Fury. At the end of 2003, they had agreed to be the publisher for the winning games in the first annual Dream On Contest, sponsored by Cyberdog Castle. The winning games in this contest, Inhabitants and Maqiupai, were scheduled to be released in early 2004. Due to errors in the manufacturing process, the pressed games would not run on Sega Dreamcast systems. After many months of seeking out suitable replacement pressing, the games were finally released in early 2005.

In 2006, their latest game Cool Herders was released on the Dreamcast. It is a party game where herders use their powers to recover sheep. The British publisher Alten8 announced a Nintendo DS version in 2007.

Canceled and unreleased games
At least 14 Dreamcast games were announced from GOAT Store Publishing between 2005 to 2008 that never made it to market.

* On December 13th 2005, GOAT Store Publishing planed a game compilation called GOAT Games which was to be available in "early 2006".

*According to GOAT Store they wanted to do a remake of the Atari 2600 game Ram It! under the name R3K for the Dreamcast with updated graphics and some of the aesthetic style of Tempest 2000. Unfortunately no further information is available until today.

*According to a gamesetwatch announcement, 10 more commercial games were announced at the Midwest Gaming Classic in June 2006.

In October 2006 they announced the game Radium from the Dutch developer Revival Studios. In 2008 the official website was shut down, and no further information is available.

Another game called Rush Rush Rally Racing from Senile Team was announced in 2007. The latest news update is from April 2008 and screenshots are available.
