The Dirtball

The Dirtball (real name, David Alexander) is a rapper signed to Suburban Noize Records.

Early life
In high school he formed his first band, Dizzy Fish, and started to learn the large world of entertaining and gigging. Mostly summer focused, the band played as much as possible throughout Portland, Eugene, and Seattle. As time progressed, The Dirtball continued to play, the old band broke up, and he began to focus on rapping while playing the drums rather than the backup singing he had been doing with the band.
Eventually, he made his way to the Salt Lake City area to attend the University of Utah.

Chola
This band would focus on high energy, in your face performances with the plan to basically ‘get-fucked-up'. Dirtball, called Dirty D at the time, was on the drums, headset and all, straight rappin' and holding down the fort and the front. Alongside was fellow founder, Tokin J, rappin' and blazing the guitar. They had a series of bass players throughout and had a solid percussionist that went by the name KGB. They became a staple for several clubs as well as opened for several established bands along the way. All in all, they killed it in the intermountain area, but never had the break they needed to take it to the next level. They recorded two CDs, the first self-titled, and the second titled “Groove the Nation”.

Starting Out
Seeing and feeling the craft of his rapping begin to take form after these years, it was an obvious reality that getting off the drumset and tossing the headset aside, was about to take place. It was at this time he moved into his other alias Dirtball of which his friends coined for him in high school due to his simple, dirty funk style on the drumkit. He bailed outta Salt Lake, leaving a flurry of fans wondering ‘what the fuck?', and headed back to his home turf up in the Northwest, Oregon to be exact. With enough experience over his life on computers, and tracking/mixing himself in SLC on various low budget recording methods, he meticulously pieced together The Dirty D Project Vol.1 at his house. It was an entire solo effort all the way down to the beats and everything in between. Mastering was done back in SLC with Chuck Meyers at Big Idea. He sent several hundred around (as most desperate musicians do) trolling the only industry waters possible, and continuing to do odd rap shows and small gigs to get by mentally. Thanks to a friend named Ian G, Suburban Noize got a hold of the self-made effort.

Record Deal
Dirtball signed a record deal with Suburban Noize Records. At that point it was on. So for the last two years he has been slamming the levels and touring on his first Suburban Noize release, The Dirtball, “Pop-A-D-Ball”, pressing out a handsome rap career. With four nationwide tours under his belt in 2004-2005, he has had the opportunity to welcome the fanbases of the Kottonmouth Kings, Phunk Junkeez, The Subnoize family and the Juggalo Family into his realm.
