The Crash Engine

Alex Heller, Tom Dawson, Kris Crummett, and Eric Leskovar comprise the jangly melodic rock stylings of The Crash Engine. The band's hauntingly catchy melodies hint at the soft/loud rock sounds of "Doolittle"-era PIxies and the hypnotic indie pop of Silversun Pickups with a euphoric punk energy reminiscent of Hot Water Music. Their uniquely new--yet familiar--sound has intoxicated their native Portland since the release of their 4 song Self-Titled EP in 2005, only intensified by their self-produced debut full-length "Extravagaria" in April of 2007.
After an inspired set at the CMJ music festivalin October of 2007, the band embarked on a self-booked/promoted year-long tour across the United States and Canada. The band played 150+ shows and performed with bands ranging from Gogol Bordello to Gym Class Heroes. Sleeping on couches and camping in parking lots, the band's DIY spirit and exciting live show has captured the attention and support of fans across North America.
Their second full length album "Beautiful Blood", Mixed in part by renowned producer Lou Giordano (Sunny Day Real Estate, Taking Back Sunday, Live) was released on March 8, 2011.
