The Charlie Hodge Halftime Show is a comedy radio show, which airs on KLBJ-FM 93.7 in Austin, TX from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. CT. It stars Charlie Hodge, formerly of The Dudley & Bob Show. Also, Charlie has in recent times had a co-host Matt "Chicken-wing" Sadler. The show features various commentary and discussion about current events and pop culture. Interaction with callers is a regular theme as well. Common Show Vocabulary * "Butthorn": The ultimate of made up insults. The word came from the quote “your worst nightmare butthorn,” from Gary Busey in the movie Bulletproof. * "Camel toe": See http://www.urbandictionary.com * "Chicken wing": Matt's nickname, as he claims to be 'a vegetarian, but I like buffalo wings' * "Comswap": A caller relaying information to Charlie about new information * "Crap Eagle": A “Crap Eagle” is someone who “swoops” into a calm environment and ruins everything, putting a damper on the mood. The “Crap Eagle” term came from the “Show Us Your Cans” food drive at Hooters during the winter holidays in 2009, when the original Crap Eagle demanded to have his food cans back after not winning the food drive contest. * "Deep Fried Peacock": Used to describe Leon's mullet. * "The Dong of America": A nickname for the state of Florida, named for its phallic-like formation. Charlie has declared time and time again that Florida produces the most “scum stories”, aka “scummery”. This is often substantiated with news stories describing scummy activity perpetuated by Floridians. * "Doucheteroid": Is a douche of such stellar proportions that they could only have come to this planet from outer space. * "Dragon Sack": An event that occurs where someone or some ones get crammed into a sleeping bag with listener “Dragon Lady”. * "Dung-a-doo-balls": A sound byte from a video of a heavily intoxicated woman saying something, which no one can ever really make out the words of. * "Freedom Nugget": Every Tuesday at 12:20 p.m. radio show personality from Infowars.com calls the show to discuss the current happenings in the government. * "Google.com": An approriate answer if someone asks how you are, especially if you are having a great day. This is commonly used by Charlie; he explains "no one is doing better than Google.com". * "Half-cocked": “Flying off half-cocked” means to put forth an argument on a subject without having all the facts. You must be a member of Charlie’s organization SNATCH to fly off half-cocked. It is normal to fly off half-cocked on a "LA dumbface" or "Johnny Dallas". * "The Hasselhoff": “The Hasselhoff” refers to how the state of Florida will soon look due to the BP oil spill, as human hair is considered the most efficient way to soak up oil. Florida may resemble look like actor and singer David Hasselhoff, oily and very hairy. * "Intimidatasaurus Rex": The aggressive panhandlers that claim to collect money for charity, when in reality, the money goes to a private organization. Record incidents with Intimidatasaurus and post them on the official I-Rex resistance Facebook group “Intimidatasaurus Rex Face” at: http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#!/group.php?gid=116071171764493 * "Johnny Dallas": See 'LA dumbface'. The same concepts are applied to migrants from Dallas moving to Austin. * "LA dumbface": Typically he would also be looking to build a 'Razoos on Barton Springs'. This is expressive of Charlie (and many Austinites) opinion that California migrants (who migrate to Austin in record numbers every day) are culturally insensitive, selfish, profit-oriented foreigners. * "Ninja boot": Refers to a split-toe type of enclosed shoe worn by ninja's, which resembles a "Camel toe" * "Ooh a lay-dee": Usually said when a female caller first speaks. * "Pole-climbing Bobcat": A word that can be used to replace vulgarity. * "Portuguese Water Dog": A term that can be used to replace vulgar diction. The Portuguese Water Dog was made famous when U.S. President Barack Obama got a Portuguese Water Dog breed of dog for his family in 2009. * "Tequila Rose": A product made for people who just want a creamier tequila. * "The Old Bob Richardson": A reference for oral sex (still looking for references on this one) * "The Vedders": When your voice gets stuck speaking unintelligibly like Eddie Vedder from Pearl Jam. * "Scumnado": When two or more scum stories occur in the same general vicinity. When a low pressure scum incident encounters a high pressure scum incident, you get a “Scumnado”. * "Send it around the room": When a company comes up with an idea and asks for input from around the meeting room. This is often skipped, thus resulting in public scandals. * "Shalhoub": A word that can replace any vulgar or derogatory term. While invented by Charlie, the word comes from the last name of actor Tony Shalhoub. Also used in the form "Scum-sucking shalhoub" when referring to individuals. * "SNATCH": Charlie’s organization that stands for “Stopping Negative Austinites Through Half-Cockedness”. To purchase a SNATCH t-shirt at http://charlieandmatt.com/ . * "Robin Williams’ Forearm": See “The Hasselhoff” Characters * Charlie: our hero, the local funny guy gone 'big in radio' * Matt "Chicken wing" Sadler: The misfit sidekick. For a while, Sadler apparently only remained on the show to serve as the donkey on a pin-the-tail-on-the-donkey game. He would normally either be mocked or hurt by someone. More recently his respect seems to be growing, as he is contributing without mockery or violence for extended periods. Sadler is also a comedian who frequents Austin comedy venues. * "Chewus Aurelius": Chuy, intern extrodinaire and producer. * Leon: a 5'4", 280 pound, mullet wearing citizen of Buda with serious emotional difficulties. He calls into the show sporadically, quite often ending with a drawn out tale to explain what a dumbass Charlie is before hanging up. * Krystal with a "K": Leon's ex-girlfriend, whom he has committed suicide and written songs (with allegedly stolen portions) for. * Dragon Lady: A listener who is frequents the show to participate in the "Dragon Sack". She lives near Lake Travis and is known for her love of partying and lotioning up young men. * Alex Jones: he typically calls in to the show on a regular segment ('The Freedom Nugget') to rant about various geopolitical topics of heated concern. * "Rio": An animal wrangler who often visits the show for his “Radio Safaris”, where he does his best to torture Matt Sadler. * George Bush: Played by Charlie, this is normally accompanied by nonsensical references and generally casts GW in a foolish light. * "Randy": The announcer who introduces the halftime show * "Smokey Mcpot": The great stoner of the modern day and age! Calls in on fridays to take Bong rips, usually in dedication of someone thing or cause. Regular Segments * "The Freedom Nugget": the show's introduction is ended with "you cant stop freedom when it's in nugget form", followed by Charlie making explosion noises. Alex Jones calls in to the show around lunchtime to discuss various topics ranging the geopolitical spectrum. * "The Aaron Tippin Moment": Charlie finds events in the news which represent some interpretation of Aaron Tippin's song, "You've got to stand for something or you'll fall for anything". This simply means someone who stands up for something senseless and makes an extreme fool of themselves in the process. This segment has slowed considerably, as callers overwhelmed the show with their attempts at reciting their personal experiences. Charlie now turns on a 7 second stopwatch in which callers must explain their experience. Homeless Karaoke In the year 2000, Charlie and his brother made a CD with music made exclusively with homeless talent. The homeless were allegedly only provided items such as t-shirts, beer and tube socks as payment for services.
"The Old Bob Richardson": A reference for oral sex (still looking for references on this one)

The stupidest thing KLBJ did was fire Charlie Hodge and Matt. By canceling their show they silenced the voice of Austin. LONG LIVE CHARLIE HODGE!
