The Bomb Factory Art Foundation is a not-for-profit studio complex and art gallery based in Archway, North London. The organisation focuses on contemporary arts, staging a public programme of exhibitions, performances and live events. Currently there are 17 studios, 2 independent art groups and over 30 resident artists ranging from recent graduates to internationally acclaimed prize winners. History The Bomb Factory Art Foundation is situated in a Victorian warehouse in Archway, North London. Over the years the building had been used in a myriad of ways, most infamously during The Second World War when it became a fully functioning munitions factory. Located by the main roundabout at the top of Holloway Road, the surrounding area was heavily bombed in an attempt to destroy the building; however the original shell remained intact. In 2014, the space was designated for development, and The Bomb Factory was founded in response to the growing need for affordable studio spaces for contemporary artists, along with the desire to establish a new arts centre and cultural hub in North London. The Bomb Factory Art Foundation opened its doors in January 2015.
