The Alien Legacy is a DVD box set containing all the films in the : *Alien *Aliens *Alien³ *Alien Resurrection The set includes the theatrical editions of three of the films (with the exception of Aliens), with no documnetaries or commentaries. A fifth disc with a documentary (called The Alien Legacy), which could be mail-ordered for free, briefly detailed the making of the films'. The documentary runs for less than an hour. This DVD box set was the first by Twentieth Century Fox Studios and its sales determined further input from them, the following year a Die Hard Trilogy box set was released. The collection was released on June 1, 1999. This set was followed up with the in late 2003. This box set was a nine-disc (two discs per film, one special features disc) comprehensive collection of the series. The Ridley Scott solo commentary from Alien disc in The Alien Legacy set has not been carried over to the Alien Quadrilogy set. The Alien Legacy has since been re-released as the Alien Triple Pack (dropping Alien Resurrection and the fifth bonus disc) as a Target exclusive. See Also
