Texpatriate

Texpatriate is a political blog and consulting group based in Houston mainly covering State and local affairs. Founded in 2012 by Noah M. Horwitz, it has quickly grown into a serious voice in local politics, and has gained tremendous support throughout the State for its detailed political reporting and commentating. It generally writes from a liberal slant.
Selected works from Texpatriate have been featured in the Houston Chronicle, Burnt Orange Report, the American Daily Standard and Rare . Perhaps the most famous article penned by this blog was labeled "An unmitigated disaster" and chronicled the cobra effect that transpired when 2013 Houston Mayoral candidate Ben Hall inadvertently appealed his Facebook advertisements to right-wing fringe groups.
While most day-to-day reporting, writing and editing is done by Horwitz, Texpatriate is managed of an editorial board comprised of him, Olivia Arena, George Bailey and Andrew Scott Romo. The editorial board conducts interviews, fields endorsements, ranks Legislators and writes "Editorial" articles that represent a more diverse point-of-view.
The blog is a key member of the Texas Progressive Alliance, an organization of elite liberal blogs in the State that include Burnt Orange Report, Harold Cook's Letters from Texas and Off the Kuff.
