Testing For Echo
In late 2007, guitarist/vocalist Rich Albergo and guitarist Antonio Gabriele, formerly known as the Long Island, New York-based acoustic duo The Montauk Project, formed a new musical endeavor from the foundation of their previous efforts. Accompanied by keyboardist Eric Mazurkewitz, bass player Michael Gaudiello, and drummer James Boyle, The Montauk Project began performing under the new name, Testing For Echo. Shortly after this change, Testing For Echo began exhibiting signs of a new direction in a full-band rock/alternative genre at their live performances.
In February of 2008, the band released the E.P. Renaissance. A re-working of mostly acoustic songs from their days as The Montauk Project, Renaissance showcased Testing For Echo's full-band rock/alternative aspects, in keeping with the previous changes to their live performances. The band continued to play in venues on Long Island and NYC.
In October of 2008, drummer James Boyle was replaced by Peter Koronios. At this time, Testing For Echo began to expand their presence by performing outside the Long Island/NYC areas and embarked on a series of mini-tours throughout the winter of 2008 through the following spring in 2009 to venues and colleges in the New York/New Jersey/Pennsylvania/Massachusettes areas. The band followed the tour with recording a three-song E.P. of new material in a more mainstream dance/rock genre.
The E.P. entitled, Parallels is slated for a fall release via iTunes.
The band's myspace page hints of setting up dates for another tour of North Eastern colleges and universities that will take them through the fall and winter of 2008, and spring of next year on their touring roster.
