Telugu Lahari ( http://www.telugulahari.org/ ) is the Community Radio Group formed in August 2005 as a non-profit, non-religious organization by immigrant Telugu people in Brisbane, QLD, Australia.This was initiated by Kameswara Rao Ayyalaraju and evolved into medium of Promoting Telugu Culture, education and community affairs and activities.Apart from these activities Telugu Lahari also airs telugu radio programs on air on 4EBFM98.1 in Brisbane for few hours on every Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday.
Telugu group was accepted by 4EBFM98.1 ( http://www.4eb.org.au ) on 15th August 2005 and were allocated the air time . The first program went to air on 7th September 2005 under the banner Telugu Lahari. On that day for the first time Telugu language was heard in Brisbane through the voices of Kameswara Rao Ayyalaraju and Dasharathi Karamchedu with the technical help of Mr Jim Vazir, of Persian Group of 4EBFM98.1 ( http://www.4eb.org.au )
Telugu Lahari evolved into a very Organized Structure which was governed by Convenor, Vice-Convenor and an Executive Committe. All these members are elected by volunteers over an annual election for particular term.Many members on an ongoing basis register and be a part of the Organisation. To become a member one has to pay the membership fee . Membership can be paid per individual or per family basis.
