Telepath RPG Chapter One

Telepath RPG Chapter One is the first part of a multi-game series by Sinister Design. Also, the very first game released by Sinister Design. The storyline revolves around people with psychokinetic abilities, called Psys.
Storyline
The Hero (players can choose their name) is introduced as a black cape-level Psy, one of advanced mental ability. The Hero has 3 friends in the Psy Academy. Piter, a red cape-level Psy who is slow in learning; Guy, a blue cape-level Psy who is careless and headstrong; and Anya, a blue cape-level Psy who specializes in Psy Defense and healing.
Anya tells the Hero that his Uncle Falstaff is waiting for him in the Academy's pub. After talking to him, the Hero finds out that his little brother David has been captured by a group of creatures called Shadowlings. They are holding him captive in an encampment just West of the Academy. The Hero can persuade all his friends to join in the rescue effort except for Piter, who claims he will be more of a hindrance than a help.
The Hero, Falstaff, Anya and Guy leave for the Shadowling camp. The Hero manages to avoid the guards long enough to reach the largest tent and save David, who looks pale and clammy, not responding to the Hero. When he returns to the rest of the rescue force, Guy shows him a bracelet he had found on the ground. The Hero puts it on and feels a sense of power rush over him, as if anything were possible.
They return to the Academy, where Falstaff, Anya and Guy take David to the Academy's infirmary. The Hero is asked to clear some room in his dormitory in case David needs to stay there overnight. As soon as the Hero enters his room, the door closes behind him and a rather large Shadowling appears. Unlike other Shadowlings shown this one has horns, as well as blue eyes and hands. He introduces himself as Tastidian, commander of the Shadowling army. He explains that he is using David to translate and intercept messages from other Shadowlings. Apparently the Shadowlings are in the midst of a civil war. If The Hero wants David back, he will have to sacrifice his own free will. Assuming that he hasn't put on the bracelet, the Hero has three choices here: to fight Tastidian, to give up David without resistance, or to serve under Tastidian for three years. Psy Academy Locations
The Academy's layout is that of a plus sign, with important locations in the South-West, South-East, North-West and North-East directions from the center of the plus.

Offices
Moraine's Drug and Alchemical Supply sells pills that clear the user's mind, allowing them to focus better; and pills that bestow the user with precognition, determining the opponent's next move(see Battle System below).
Vernon's Fine Books sells books that improve the Psy abilities of the reader and allow them to gain new in-battle abilities.
The Tutoring Center is where Psys can improve their abilities.
The Administrative Offices are where the Hero can fill out a form for permission to leave the Academy.
Miss Cleo's Bottomless Bottle is the Academy's pub, where the Hero meets Falstaff.
Anya's and the Hero's room can be found in the dormitories. Strangely, none contain a bed.
Battle System
The Hero can battle against different characters throughout the game. These are one-on-one strictly turn-based battles similar to the battles in a Phantasy Star game, where during each turn the character decides which attack to use. Attacks use up Psy points which can be replenished by taking Focus Pills, Focusing in-battle, or resting in between battles.
In-between battles, The Hero can converse with many other characters, with dialogue options similar to the dialogue system in Fallout. Sometimes these may have a drastic impact on the later events of the game. Unlike most RPGs, Telepath does not use an experience-based leveling system. Instead, Gold pieces obtained from winning battles are expended in the Psy Academy Tutoring Center to improve the statistics of The Hero.
Characters
A list of significant characters who appear in Telepath RPG Chapter One.<ref name="telepath.wikia.com"/>
The Hero: A Black Cape-level Psy Fighter who is the main character of the first two Telepath games.
Piter: A Red Cape-level Psy who is a friend of the Hero's. He is rather inept.
Anya: A Blue Cape-level Psy Healer who acts as a contact and continually bolsters the Hero's defenses.
Guy: A Blue Cape-level Psy Fighter who acts as a contact and is the Hero's best friend. He can be overbearing at times, and is a sparring partner with the Hero. Guy is jealous of the Hero because the Hero received a black cape before he did.
Uncle Falsaff: The Hero's uncle, acts as a contact but is quite a weak one. He is a Scout.
David: A Psy prodigy captured by Tastidian to intercept and translate messages from a rebellious break-off of the Shadowlings.
Tastidian: A Shadowling General.
Telepath RPG Chapter One Skills
Mind Blast: A powerful blast of mental energy that subdues opponents by overloading their synapses. Costs 1 PsP.
Mind Shield: A healing move that restores some of the user's hit points. Costs 3 PsP.
Pyro Blast: A fiery blast of telekinetically accelerated, combusted air molecules. Cost 7 PsP.
Feedback: A mental simulation of the opponent's most recent attack that simultaneously heals the user. Cost 5 PsP.
Focus: Instant meditation that regains 1 PsP.
Contact: Channels the mindstates of allies onto the battlefield through your own, and have them fight by your side. Contact costs vary. Falstaff: 3 PsP. Guy: 8 PsP. Anya: 7 PsP.
Shadow Blast: A concentrated blast of corrosive miasma from the attacker's mind. Used by Shadowlings.
Dark Vortex: A whirlpool of corrosive miasma that severs the Contact mind links between the opponents and their allies. Used by Noctus.
