"Tebowing" or "to get down on a knee and start praying, even if everyone around you is doing something completely different," is an internet phenomenon, derived from the ritual of Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow, a propensity for kneeling and praying -- even during crucial periods of athletic contest, specifically in the Broncos' improbable overtime victory over the Miami Dolphins on October 23, 2011. The phenomenon's origin is officially credited to Jared Kleinstein, who joined his friends in posing on one knee with head bowed in prayer against a loose right fist for a picture which was posted to Facebook . The popularity of the picture compelled Kleinstein and company to set up a website to which hundreds of pictures submitted by users depict various interpretations of "Tebowing" in various locations.
