Dynasty's Accomplishments
*In 2001, Dynasty won the paintball World Cup in their first year as a pro team, a feat that had never been accomplished before. That same year, they made the finals at their first event as a 10-man pro team at the NPPL Los Angeles Open. They also took third twice in the European Millennium Series at both events they attended: at the 7-man World Cup in Toulouse and at the Campaign Cup in London. However, there was a lot of controversy about Dynasty taking away the Cup that year, as the call that gave them the victory in the tournament was made half an hour after the end of the deciding game. In fact, Dynasty's Brad Maughan didn't have the time to hang the flag and originally only got the transit points as himself and Rodney Squires had to deal with an Aftershock player Ronnie Simpkins that, it was ruled out later, had been previously hit by Brad Maughan. A one-for-one penalty was therefore given to Aftershock after the game, and the player concerned being the last one on the field, it was judged this gave Dynasty an automatic flag hang. This was at the origin of a long-lasting rivalry between the two teams.
*In 2002, Oliver Lang joined the team and his former teammates of team Ironkids. The year didn't start well as two Dynasty players got banned from the season-opening 5-man Mardi Gras open for shooting from the dead box at Aftershock's Kenny Klamper who, himself, wouldn't stop shooting at Oliver Lang after both players traded with each other after a one-on-one. The team remained in the semis as Ground Zero took the event. The rest of the season would prove great for Dynasty as they took first place at the NPPL LA, third at the Las Vegas Open, fourth in Chicago, reffed in Atlantic City and took second at World Cup. They took the NPPL Series that year, but had to share it with Team Ironmen who ended up with the exact same number of points. Although Team Dynasty won all tie breaking rules for the sole ownership of the 2002 NPPL series championship, the league refused to acknowledge that fact. Team Dynasty also took the European Millennium Series, winning in Germany, in Portugal winning 16 straight games a - world record, reffing in the Netherlands, taking ninth in France and first in England. The English leg of the Millennium that year was also the occasion of what some considered a fraud: to make sure their direct competition for the overall title in the series that year Team Ironmen would be taken out of the race, Dynasty lost on purpose a game in the semi-finals against New York's Ground Zero, therefore stopping the Ironmen from going into the finals and making sure they were in no position to win the Series. However, Dynasty's domination all season long and the fact they eventually won the event put an end to malevolent comments. Dynasty won their first Triple Crown that year, that is NPPL overall champions, Millennium Series champions, as well as World Paintball Series.
*In 2003, at the moment of the split between the two leagues and the creation of the NPPL Super 7 and the PSP's NXL, Dynasty decided against the NXL as this would have meant the league could have dictated what tournaments they could attend. Thus taking away a freedom they wanted to keep at all costs. Rumors also surfaced that because Chuck Hendsch, former owner of Team Dynasty, was the newly appointed President of the NPPL, an amount of pressure played an important factor in the teams decision to side with the NPPL. Not to mention Team Dynasty's gun sponsor WDP had a direct connection to the promotion group running the newly formed Super 7 series. The Team thus stuck with the NPPL and, being the only truly top American pro team to do so (Naughty Dogs stepped up from amateur that very year and Bad Company was going through a tough rebuilding year, and Rage still wasn't back in its original shape), they won all five NPPL events, taking the Series title. They also won the six European events, both feats having never been accomplished before. The only two tournaments the Team attended and didn't win were the PSP 10-man open, which was the last ever pro 10-man event ever held and was won in the final game against Dynasty by the Naughty Dogs. Then, Dynasty lost in the finals of the World Cup in the open event against Team Strange in their first ever X-ball event. For that event, Todd Martinez, a former Ironkids player as well, had joined the Team. Dynasty won the Triple Crown again that year.
*2004 saw the end of Dynasty's winning streak in all the series the team was playing, although results remained excellent. It was also the year Dynasty saw what has remained as two of their core players join them: those were Yosh Rau, formerly of the Ironmen, and Todd Martinez (former Ironmen, Avalanche, and Team Strange). That year, Dynasty also switched guns from WDP to Smart Parts as one of their main sponsors alongside JT USA (apparel). After winning the season opener in Huntington Beach (Super 7) and the Millennium Series first event in Germany, Dynasty lost in the Tampa NPPL finals against Team Infamous (Miami's Effect in the NXL), lead by Chris Lasoya. The third NPPL event was lost in the semi finals against Team XSV. Dynasty then easily took third against Avalanche in the loser's bracket of the finals. Dynasty then won the Las Vegas event against XSV, with Oliver Lang hanging the flag just a few seconds before the game's end after a thrilling two-on-two that saw Lang and Greenspan take the upper hand over Matty Marshall and Neil Eberle who went for a desperate run-through and was shot in the process. Finally, at the final event in San Diego, Dynasty remained in the quarter finals while fellow team Dynasty Entourage was eliminated in the prelims because Mike Cota's gun was deemed illegal by the WDP robot. Mike Cota was subequently cut from the team. The incident cost the Dynasty organization a second Pro spot for the following year. The team was also dominant all year long in the PSP X Ball-open division, division which they won alongside the Super 7 and the Millennium 7-man series. In Europe, their winning streak came to an end in Spain at the Iberian Cup in the middle of the summer, where Team Arsenal, featuring star players Marcus Nielsen and French brothers Frédéric and Fabrice Halmoné won the finals in two straight games. The first game should have gone to Dynasty, as it ended with a one-on-one situation between Yosh Rau and Beau Marksohn; Rau shot Marksohn, and went for the flag before getting shot back by Marksohn and eliminated: the latter was actually clean because the Zap Chronic Rau had shot him with hadn't broken. Second game was won by Arsenal who pushed their offence down the field, with a bunkering move down the snake which is pretty clear was illegally commanded by a player on the sidelines. Oliver Lang, who was playing a corner position on that field, made a nice refill in the snake that could have changed the outcome of the game. Unfortunately for Dynasty, this wasn't the case. Dynasty ended the season winning it with a big win in Malaga (Spain) against XSV. Key players such as Quincy Boayes and Mike Hinman, essential to the X-ball squad, joined Dynasty in 2004. *2005 was Dynasty's year as the Men in Blue not only won 4 out of 5 Super 7 events and Open X Ball events, but did so with all the franchised NXL teams coming back to battle it out in the Super 7 and top contenders such as team XSV being in for the race in Open X Ball. On the other hand, Dynasty didn't attend any Millennium Series events while some players did on their own for other teams. Oliver Lang for example played all season long for Team Bullets (Hungarian D1), and Alex Fraige and Kevin Bredthauer guested for Frankfurt Syndicate (German pro) at the Dutch leg of the series. In 2005, Dynasty also had young players join the team, such as Justin Schwartz. *In 2006, Dynasty only won one NPPL event, still making a finals finish in three others and not making the cut to play on Sunday in one. It went down to the last game of the year between Dynasty and Swedish pro team Stockholm Joy for Dynasty to win, in a very controversial game, the event and the overall series title for the 4th time in a row just ahead of team XSV. Dynasty, having been offered an open spot (and not a franchise) to play in the NXL, didn't win a single X Ball event that year, in spite of regular finals finishes. 2006 was also the year that saw Oliver Lang leave Dynasty for his original pro team, Team Ironmen. It was said in the pro paintball milieu that, although he remained a close friend with the Dynasty players, Oliver was too much of a competitor to stick with a team with which he knew he would win everything and preferred to take up the challenge of making the Ironmen a winning team again. The 100,000 $ cash offer by Dye was also a determining reason, and set up a new record in the history of paintball. *In 2007 Team Dynasty once again take home the NPPL Super 7 Series Championship. *In 2008, founding member Johnny Perchak leaves Team Dynasty to join The Ironmen. The jump will re-uniting him with former Dynasty teammate Oliver Lang. Former Dynasty player Kevin Bredthaur was appointed the X-Ball coach for the 2008 season after some success as coach of Team Infamous in 2007.
