Taylor Canel

Taylor Canel (born April 30, 1985) is an American soccer player.

Youth
Canel played his club soccer for West Valley Samba from 1998-2003 under Keith West, and for Crespi Carmelite High School for four years from 00-03. A four year letter winner, Canel was named an NSCAA/ Adidas All-American, McDonalds All-American, and NSCAA/Adidas California State Player of the Year his senior year. Canel has also played for the U-18 and U-20 U.S. National Teams.
College
Canel furthered his career collegiately, spending two years at UCLA, where he won the Coaches Award (2003), before transferring to Cal State University, Northridge. While at Northridge he was named 2nd Team All-Big West and 3rd Team NSCAA/Adidas All-Far West Region in 2005 and 1st Team All-Big West, 3rd Team NSCAA/Adidas All-Far West Region, and team MVP in 2006. During his college years he also played with Orange County Blue Star and San Fernando Valley Quakes in the USL Premier Development League.

Professional
In January 2007, the Los Angeles Galaxy picked Canel in the second round (26th overall) of the 2007 MLS Supplemental Draft.
