Taurino Araújo Neto (known as Taurino Araújo, aka The Samurai of the Voice ) - Jequié, December 25, 1968) is a Brazilian lawyer, politician, writer and professor, recognized for his struggle in defense of the law in the State of Bahia, and therefore awarded the highest commendation of the Assembly of that State, the João Mangabeira medal. Biography Son of Adelino Santos de Araújo and Rita Freitas de Oliveira, graduated in teaching, Ubatã 1985. Took part of efforts to make happen Students' union in the city and supported the Diretas Já movement (direct elections for President). Got a Bachelor's degree in law from the in 1993, and was the Class Speaker, delivering the speech requesting the community to the full implementation of a Public University project committed "with philosophy, science and arts". Then, he moved to Salvador, Bahia, where works on advocacy with emphasis on human rights, working pro bono many times, or designated as public defender by the State and Federal Court. Married to Soraya Sousa Pinheiro de Araújo, with whom he has three children: Gabriel, Isaac and Ximena. Professor requested for the most different lectures, and also the columnist of the oldest newspaper of Bahia, Jornal A Tarde. In Ubatã (1989) was the youngest City Hall Secretary of Administration in Brazil, and concerned about Fiscal Policy create and follow the concept about public money: “the money is not mine; the money is not your, the money looks to be our, but it is not”, and received the “Secretary of the Year Award” for his performance. In 2008 was honored by the Bahia Section of the Order of Attorneys of Brazil with a session of Public Reparation in face of improper treatment from a Judge of the State Court. After this incident he was candidate to Judge of the Appeals Court, known as constitutional fifth, a position destined to lawyers with renowned skills. Earns the title of Honorary Citizen of Salvador, and Gongogi, Bahia in 2009, and in 2011 received the Thomé de Souza medal. Holds a doctorate in Law and Social Sciences from the Universidad del Museo Social Argentino, in Buenos Aires, and was the Completion Ceremony Speaker representing Brazil, in July 2010 (Class 4B). In August 29, 2013 received from Legislative Assembly of Bahia the Commandery of Meritorious Citizen of Liberty and Social Justice João Mangabeira, due to his trajectory in defense of social rights, the State's highest honor.
