Tactician is the stage name of American rapper Abed Ibrahim Serwan. Serwan first rose to relative fame after releasing a music video for his single "To the Top." He has since released an album, covering songs like "Airplanes" and "Monster." The rapper, known for his prominent lisp, is heavily influenced by Lil' Wayne, Drake, Kanye West, and Nikki Minaj and spends most of his time around the Orange County hookah scene. Early Life Serwan was born to a Lebanese father and Malaysian mother in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. At age 9, he showed an affinity for poetry. Westcoast Boyz Serwan first began performing under a makeshift label called Westcoast Boyz, founded by local thug Nickels. The artist, known to lose his keys in various places, released an album, Unsigned Hype, soon after signing Serwan but failed to keep the rapper interested. The artists parted ways in 2007. C4 Entertainment After leaving Westcoast Boyz, Serwan was recruited by American-Egyptian socialite Yoseph Basha, known to others simply as Basha. Basha and Serwan started a career that would amount to the rapper's first music video and first album, "The Mood Ring." To the Top Music Video Shot in Upland, Calfornia and relased on May 1, 2010, Serwan's music video "To the Top" threw the rapper into the limelight of Orange County's hookah scene. The video was the rapper's first real break, generating 5,000 You Tube hits in the first month alone. KIIS FM's Wango Tango Breakout Star of the Year 2011 Serwan was nominated to participate in the KIIS FM's Wango Tango Breakout Star of the Year, competing against over 40 other artists. He won the competition's fan favorite award on May 2 with an estimated 13,000 votes.
